This Privacy Policy explains how Vertex8 ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Mandarin Assistant HSK Widget application (the "App").
Data Stored on Your Device
The App does not require an account and does not operate a backend service. Your vocabulary, personal word lists, and other app data are stored locally on your device.
Vertex8 does not have access to this locally stored data.
Optional Google Drive Backup
The App optionally allows you to back up your personal app database to your Google Drive account. This feature is initiated by you and is provided through Google's services.
Vertex8 does not receive or store your Google account credentials or your backed-up database. Your use of Google Drive is also subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.
Analytics
The App uses Google Analytics to help us understand how the App is used and to improve its functionality.
Analytics may collect information such as app usage, events, technical information, and approximate geographic information such as country. We do not intentionally send personally identifying information, advertising identifiers, names, email addresses, or other information that directly identifies you to Google Analytics.
Analytics data is used for app measurement and improvement. We do not use this information to display personalized advertising in the App.
Information We Do Not Collect
Vertex8 does not operate a backend for the App and does not collect personal databases, account information, names, email addresses, or other personally identifying information from users.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be processed by Google when you use Google Analytics or voluntarily use the Google Drive backup feature. These services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your personal app data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it by deleting the relevant data through the App or by uninstalling the App, as applicable.
Backups stored in your Google Drive are controlled through your Google account and can be deleted from Google Drive.
Analytics data is retained and managed by Google according to the applicable Google Analytics retention settings and policies.
Children
The App is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page together with an updated "Last updated" date.
